Dümmen Orange is the world’s largest breeder and propagator of cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials. For our Commercial Organization in the APAC region, we are looking for an PBR Administrator – APAC (to be based in Shanghai/Beijing).

The PBR Administrator – APAC is responsible for the overarching PBR registration and protection of intellectual property across the APAC region. This means improving the regional compliances, securing company’s intellectual property rights by maintaining up-to-date registrations and royalty contracts to become more competitive as one of the world’s top breeding company.
Your tasks and responsibilities
• PBR Registration Management:
o Work with a diverse group of stakeholders to overseeing the registration and maintenance of PBR applications .
o Verify new variety information, follow-up on the process of new variety registrations RHS and ensure the PBR registration is secure and maintained.
o Align with Crop/Product Managers to verify on market strategies and determine the maintenance of PBRs at specific region/countries.
o Collect and in put the technical data for local variety registration.
o Process the registrations of Dümmen Orange intellectual properties, this means taking proactive approach on the required actions new/renew/termination for PBRs, company trademarks, contracts and etc.
• Maintain PBR’s:
o Consult & update with corporate legal on new/renew/termination of PBR applications/trademark applications/royalty contracts.
• Liaise with industry representative:
o Build strong relationships with local PBR authorities to ensure Dümmen Orange compliance with UPOV regulations and successful registration of varieties.
o Lobby towards authorities on matters relating to PBR registration within the APAC countries.
• Coordination for infringement investigations:
o Project manage the enforcement of PBR rights within APAC.
o Prevent infringement losses and minimize undesired propagation in the APAC region.
o Fulfill the company strategy, under the direction of the regional leadership team.
o Coordinate stakeholders (external & internal) to achieve the desired outcome.
Your profile
• University degree preferably in horticulture or law.
• Training in project management, intellectual property management is a plus.
• 3+ years in the horticulture industry experience.
• Proven track-record on managing Plant Breeder's Rights (PBR) is looked upon favorably.
• Skills and experiences in breeding looked upon favorably.
• Strong skills in project management.
• Good communication skills; business capable in English and Mandarin. Additional language skills looked upon favorably.
• Trustworthy, reliable, consistent performer.
